AI is here. Do we all need to go back to school?
AI is already changing the way professionals learn, work, and make decisions. But adopting new technology also raises a less obvious questions: are the people, skills, and support systems around changing at the same pace?
On 6 October, the first InnoStars Community meeting opens with three different perspectives and the conversation will be shaped by everyone who joins. Be there with us!
This is where we want to begin: The InnoStars Community, a new monthly online meeting series built around practical experience rather than one-way presentations.
Rethinking Health Skills for the AI Era meeting, takes place on 6 October 2026 at 10:00 CEST online and is open to everyone interested in AI, skills and health innovation. Rather than long presentations, we want to reflect on what we’ve learned so far and what comes next.
Our first meeting brings together three different perspectives opened by Ricardo Vieira Pires, InnoStars:
“Darwin taught us that adapting to change is how we survive. In the age of AI, how must we change the way we teach and learn to prepare people and organizations for what comes next?”
Ricardo explores this question in his book, AI in Everyday Life: Tales of Transformation and Discovery and will moderate conversation with our two guests.
Jorge Figueira from the University of Coimbra will draw on his experience in entrepreneurship and innovation education. Kuba Pędziwiatr, CEO and Co-founder of Metaskills, will bring the perspective of a company developing VR and AI-based tools for healthcare training including simulations where healthcare professionals can safely practise patient conversations, empathy and delivering difficult news.
Our aim is to bring together a range of voices from the innovation ecosystem, and to hear not only from the speakers but also from the audience. Participants will be able to ask questions throughout the meeting, share their own reactions, and explore possible connections and collaboration opportunities. The series is designed as a participatory experience, not a one-way broadcast.
This meeting is the beginning of a wider series. Future InnoStars Community meetings will explore topics including VR in Health, the European Health Data Space, and collaboration between SMEs and corporates.
